Gîte rental in Dordogne Périgord " Le Four à Pain " (The Bread Oven)
Located not far from the campsite swimming pool and facing the Dordogne river, we offer you the opportunity to rent one of our two Périgord stone gîtes: "Le Four à Pain", which sleeps 2 . This old bread oven, which is still there, has been recently renovated for your comfort by Patrick, the owner.
Lying in your bed or sitting on the sofa, you can watch the swans and other birds sailing on the water. You can enjoy your meals outside, protected from the sun by a parasol. Vacations are also about relaxing, and what better way to do so than on deckchairs overlooking this natural setting. This gîte in Dordogne Périgord is ideal for making the most of our camping in Dordogne is waiting for you!
A little history of the Périgord Noir
Your stay in the gîte du four will plunge you into the daily life of the inhabitants of the Garrit farm in the 19th century. In the past, each farm or village in the Dordogne had its own oven in which bread was baked for one or more families. The bread was made with flour from the Moulinal, which is just across the railway line and the road. This is where the wheat was made into flour.
