The town of Sarlat,

Capital of the Périgord Noir, Sarlat is an authentic medieval city. It was restored in the 1960s and 1970s thanks to the Malraux law. This city is known throughout the world for its high density of historical monuments. Take a stroll through the winding old streets. You will not regret your visit to the traditional market on Thursday or Saturday morning. In the evening, Sarlat reveals itself differently in the light of its gas lighting. This brings out the warmth of the ochre colour of the Périgord Noir limestone.
